New Yorkers voting new mayors

Today (5/11), the people of New York City elected official to the new mayor, billionaire Michael Bloomberg after the decision not to re-election. The advantage is in the Democratic Party candidate Bill de Blasio.



52 years old , Bill de Blasio and his wife during his election campaign had promised to bring a new style to the capital city has been transformed a lot in 12 years under the administration of his predecessor Michael Bloomberg .
His campaign led De Blasio Republican rival Joe Lhota really be left behind , when directly targeted to the concerns of the middle class are vulnerable economically , and look to the Democratic voters prop which was reliable .
A survey by NBC and the Wall Street Journal conducted on 4/11 show , Mr. de Blasio lead to 41 points over rival Lhota , that he has a great opportunity to become the first mayor of the Democratic Party Home in America's largest city since 1989.
However, because the proportion of the vote in the mayoral election is often low , de Blasio has used his last day to urge voters to do what they promise and go vote .
Multiracial family of de Blasio also give candidates an advantage in multi-ethnic cities : New York residents 33.3 % were white , 25.5 % were black , 28.6 % of Hispanic Americans , Portuguese and 12.7 % are Asian .
If elected the 109th mayor of New York , de Blasio pledged to raise taxes to fund education programs before and after school age , and to build 200,000 low-income homes .
