3 Chinese naval fleet exercises in the western Pacific

3 Chinese naval fleet is currently conducting the first round of military exercises in the western Pacific, south of Japan's Okinawa Prefecture.


According to Chinese state media , the North Sea Fleet , East Sea and South Sea drills began on 18/10 . At the end of last week , the destroyers and frigates of the fleet has moved through the island of Okinawa and through waters between Taiwan and the Philippines to the Pacific Ocean .

The exercises simulate real battle began Friday . The soldiers were trained to identify the steps you and enemies , based on data from early warning aircraft .

Chinese state media said this is the first time 3 Chinese fleet conducted drills in the eastern island chain known as the " first island chain " , cut through Okinawa and the Philippines .

Chinese Navy said the exercise was part of the annual activities have been planned in advance . But observers believe that China is showing off its military strength before Japan and the Philippines . Both countries now have territorial disputes with China . According to observers , the exercise is also a warning to the U.S. about plans to increase intervention in Asia -Pacific .
