British Report: U.S. wiretapping 35 world leaders

On 24/10, Britain's Guardian newspaper reported that U.S. intelligence had tapped the telephone conversation of 35 world leaders after White House officials, the Pentagon and the U.S. State Department to provide telephone number.



A confidential document by the former U.S. Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA ) Edward Snowden said the agency provided the U.S. National Security ( NSA ) has been working closely with the industry " clients " of the government U.S. to get the phone number of the foreign political priority.
According to the document, a U.S. official has provided more than 200 numbers , including phone numbers of the leaders of the world , for the NSA to conduct surveillance . However, this monitoring is not carried out regularly but only periodically.
Revealing the latest comes in the context of the angry reaction of the allegations that the U.S. was wiretapping of mobile Merkel Angela Merkel , monitor communications of leaders Brazil , Mexico and reconnaissance tens of millions of messages and e-mail of the French people .

Meanwhile , leaders of Belgium , Finland , Malta and other countries told reporters that Washington should provide explanation and Europe should have a common stance to protect its citizens .
It is still unclear whether EU leaders can point to a common stance in response to this incident or not . Many countries , especially Spain and England - countries have close contact with U.S. intelligence - spies have confirmed that the issue of national interests beyond the jurisdiction of the EU .
