Russia has successfully tested the first flight of the fifth generation fighter amid rising tensions with the U.S. and European missile defense system (NMD)
Russia's Sukhoi Corporation said fighter prototype 5th generation T - 50 has completed the first test flight on 27/10 .
During flight tests , the aircraft took off from the airport of Komsomolsk - na - Amur plant .
" T - 50 has passed all tests of weapons systems " , Russian Air Force Commander , Lt. Gen. Viktor Bondarev , informed .
Earlier, on 25/10 , Sukhoi Corporation has completed ground testing process for new aircraft .
It is expected that the new aircraft will begin to provide the Russian army in 2017 . This milestone has been handed suspended twice for various reasons . Initially , Russia plans to equip fighter T - 50 for the military in 2015 .
The
fighter T - 50 is the product of joint collaboration project between
