Los Angeles police said the shooting occurred at 9:20 am 1/11 local time in Terminal 3 when the man suddenly pulled semi-automatic rifle from the bag at the baggage shoot where an employee's Transportation Security Agency (TSA) and at least seven others were injured.
"The culprit calmly stepped inside the security check before flushing the gun fired indiscriminately," Police Chief Patrick Gannon airport security, said at a press conference shortly after the incident.
"Then this guy flew into the luggage scanning area and continue shooting and ran back to the old," he said Gannon.
According to the airport police chief, who was then the crime of security personnel returned fire and is currently detained for investigation.
The suspect was identified as Paul Ciancia, 23 year-old from New Jersey. Earlier this guy had bought tickets to the airport and only likely acted alone.
