Malaysia and China joint exercises

Malaysian Defence Minister on 30/10, while on a visit to China, has revealed Malaysia and China will hold a joint exercise for the first time next year in 2014.


This is the first time Malaysia and China held a mixture of military exercises , a move that reflects the trend between the two friendly countries .


In a statement sent to AFP , Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said Malaysia , " Malaysia and China is expected to open drills mixed first between the two countries in 2014 , after the Memorandum of Contract Defense cooperation ( bilateral ) was signed in 2005 . " The statement did not give details of the exercise was scheduled as the location , size , or the army involved .


A Defense Ministry official confirmed that Malaysia will be the first exercise between the two countries' armed forces .


Report on military exercises given at the Malaysian Defence Minister was visiting China, less than a month after the visit of the Malaysian Chinese President Xi Jinping , during a visit in which the two countries committed to strengthen relations .


In Beijing , the Ministry of Defence Malaysia came into contact with Chinese counterparts often Wanquan . According to AFP , Mr Hishammuddin said he had invited him to visit often Wanquan Mawilla 2 naval base on the island of Borneo in Malaysia in the South China Sea .
